Dura Ace Wheel & Cassette capatibility
Hey all. I'm building a bike for my son and picked up really sweet Dura Ace wheels on the cheap. The rear is a Dura Ace WH-7701. I need to get a new groupset for the bike. We live in a totally flat area, so something like Shimano Sora is just fine. I can get a Sora, which is a 9 speed. But will that be compatible with the Dura Ace? Do I need to move to at least an 11 speed? Thanks!!!

Any Shimano 9-speed cassette will fit on your 7700 freehub. So will Shimano or SRAM 8- and 10-speed cassettes.
An 11-speed cassette will not fit.
An 11-speed cassette will not fit.

Okay, thank you. So it appears that I'll be using nothing higher than Sora. I'm glad to know, as I was actually on the fence about getting a 105.
