Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looks like I'm probably gonna go with the tacx tao cages. The majority seems to think that these are good cages to get, and they're cheap enough for me to buy.

Paradise?? I dont know I havent been there yet.... it certainly aint Hawaii... or at least Oahu... you can keep this place as far as I am concerned. Of course I prefer it to Barstow..or Yuma... or Camp Lejeune ... or Beufort... so yeah.. I guess it is Marine Corps paradise. although I did prefer San Diego.

I just bought 2 red ones and they work well for me. Maybe it is the bottle size or shape. I have used several different types of bottles and they are all easy to remove.

Prorace Lightweight Cage from PBK. Cheap as chips - cheaper (about 1/3 price) and lighter (20g vs 37g) than Tacx Tao and haven't had any issues with drink bottles falling out.

Didn't read the whole thread. It says Bottle Cages in the title. That means Tacx Tao. FTW, I assume others have mentioned this logic if it has already gotten to 3 pages.

I got a Specialized one in black with red trim, suits my bike colors great.

It has a carbon finish, but I doubt it's carbon. It was £6.

Couple things to keep in mind about bottle cages: Keep 'em cheap (unless you are a weight weenie), replace them when bottles start to commit suicide (all cages will loosen up over time, also the bottles themselves seem to play a part in this, older, less pliable bottles that have been washed multiple times seem to fare the worst), and keep them clean (corrosive effects of the sugars in sports drinks can do nasty things to anything).

I will have to check out the tacx tao's as I just had a bottle hit the eject button the other day on a stretch of bad road.

The answer to nearly all bottle cage questions is: Tacx Tao.

They look just like Cateye cages and they are most likely made by Cateye for the Prorace brand. They're cheap, strong and light. What else do you want.

They are expensive, but the Elite Pase Carbon Cage is the sexiest cage that I have seem. It also holds bottles in like glue.

I have these on my bike, they work fine. I think they're kind of flexy, actually.

I've had two of these on my Cannondale for three hard years. They have never broken or dropped a bottle, they will hold small and large bottles and they are only 19g.

I looked around for some different cages for my new bike and after trying two other brands found the Campy Record cages pretty cheap at PBK and got them.

The only problem with these cages is that they tend to stratch up your bottles. Yeah even on sale they are not cheap but they hold up and you could have two or three cheapees break in the meantime.

Got a 37g Elite stainless steel cage real cheap from Nashbar which included the bottle.

I'm thinking of doing some "drillium" on it to make it as light as a carbon cage. . . and if I drill the bottle that will make it lighter, too!
