Where to get helmet chinstrap quick release?

Have a Giro Venti helmet, for some reason I'm striking out looking for chinstrap buckles for it. Mine is still working but seems like a likely part to break at some point. Tried terms like buckle, quick-release. Surely someone makes replacement buckles.

They (Bell, Giro) sell dealer repair kits to any dealer who wants to buy them. As far as I know, there are no online sources for those parts.

Okay side-release are the magic words. Using that term they're in abundance on ebay. Many thanks.

A call or e-mail to Bell Sports will probably get you a replacement at no cost.

Your helmet was last produced in 2013, and if the hardware is starting to fail, would be concerned about the rest of the helmets structure after this time. Given the cost of the helmet (it was a lower end model) and age, would be considering replacement rather than repair.

The buckle is the one moving part on the helmet - it's currently working fine, just looking to just in case. I'm confident that the helmet shell is as structurally intact as the day it came out of the factory - the foam it's made of will last until the sun burns out.

Those buckles are very durable and the probability of it failing without traumatic damage is slim.

What I envision would be a likely scenario would be fumble-thumbing it and mis-aligning it and snapping off one of the tines. I have a fanny pack I use to hold my wallet, cell phone and keys while biking that went for years and one of the side-release tines finally snapped due to fatigue. Bought several replacements on ebay for next to nothing. I sense the replacements are even sturdier than the original.

Found a 5-pack on ebay for cheap. I'll keep a spare with me while riding.

Robert...

Helmets should be replaced periodically. If something is starting to show wear on yours, you should really think about replacing it. Yes, the foam may still be around in a 100 years, but I can almost guarantee you that it has slightly different properties than it did when it was new. Those properties are what save your life.

Helmets are cheap. Go buy a new one. My road helmet was $40.

You can get those plastic snap buckles in multiple sizes at Hobby Lobby. Good for all sorts of things.

You can buy an old helmet at Goodwill for about $2 and use that buckle.
