Follis Mixte
https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/81459554
I posted this here because it seems such an unusual old bike and if it was entered on the Craigslist thread a lot of people who weren't looking to buy might miss seeing it and I think it's got some really interesting features, specifically the Rd in photos 4 and 5.
Does anyone know about the RD? I will surf through Velopages but there are a lot of 1940-1960 French Rd's to look at.
It's local pickup only in Sacramento.

I thought some form of Simplex Rigida 35?
And yes, I think based on Cool factor it's well worth it for a local!

I just saw the FD and not sure what it is either. It looks like a form of a Radonneur 22 but not quite what Velobase shows.

I just wanted to say, cool bike!!!! I love those deluxe French mixtes. This is a very cool one. Love that head lug detail.
Follis was reasonably common bike shop line through the end of the bike boom era. My hometown LBS used to carry Follis, along with Motobecane, Italvega/Univega, Trek and Bianchi. I later worked there as a teen, and they still had a few Follis bikes in stock circa ~ 1980.
I don't have anything to add on the RD, other than agreed it's some sort of Simplex.

Interesting build. I don't recall ever having seen this type of frame ("cadre femme") with drop bars. They would typically come with touriste bars and 650B wheels (700C if a Belgian product).

Front derailleur is also Simplex.
This is not a bike boom Follis. Those were from same family but the resurrected brand never had the quality or class of these old bikes. This is a special bike. Closer to a constructeur bike than a standard St. Etienne bike. Yes, a big project.

Yeah, not a bike boom bike. Sorry if I accidentally implied that. I'd guess 1950s most likely.
This is no 1970s bike. Possibly not obvious to everyone.

...it's local to me, but I don't know if I have the enthusiasm for a major project like that one right now. Let me know if you want to bid on it and get me to box and ship it to you. I probably have that much enthusiasm.

I’ve got a bid in on this one. We’ll see how high it goes. But if you are interested, bid away!
