Wanderlust, how to get past it during work?

Since moving to CO I am dreaming even more than usual of big tours and races. I find myself making dumb mistakes at work because I end up daydreaming and wondering where the last hour went. How do you guys stay focused for the 8 hours a day or so at work?

Ride lots in the evenings and on weekends.

Do you do weekend tours?

Get a job with flexible hours? I carry a bike with me and ride whenever I can.

I feel your pain. I'm dual-monitoring: one screen with a picture of the Surly LHT I'm ordering in a month and the other screen has a picture of Route 66.

Let's hope you are not a neurosurgeon or an airline pilot.

I have this problem too. Was 6 minutes late for an online meeting b/c I was looking at pix of the TT bike I want to buy. Oops.

Spring is in the air, and when it's not blowing around at 80mph, it's very distracting.

Be a teacher. The kids won't let you think of anything else. :-)

Great responses everyone, I am a mechanic at a bike shop, luckily I always catch the mistakes when I test ride things so they never make it out the door but it still is frustrating and makes me look bad. I ride to work and read touring journals on my lunch break. Actually right now I should probably quit typing and get on my way, the internet always pulls me in before work as well...

Macka I think I have the wife convinced for a weekend tour next week and I hope to make it a semi regular thing until we can get to something bigger. I do ride often, I just want a ride that can truly be labeled as an adventure, its been way too long.
