Man, this guy won't give up. You have to give him credit for sticktoitness. His claim of $300 new is pretty ballsy. I have never seen a royce union BMX bike that didn't weigh 30 pounds+.,,,,BD

Um yeah.. it's blue and too tall for them. Giving their height would help, lol.

I've learned more from "Numbskull of the Day" than any other section on the forum.

Craigslist is a home to scammers and poor spellers.

I think this email exchange deserves a Numbskull nod. I've listed a crankset on Craigslist locally, and this individual inquired about it:
Him: (entirety of email message):
Me: (beware the long-winded response!):

Him: (entirety of email message):
will that fit my 2003 cannondale caad4? it has a triple ring shimano(stock)
Well, it depends on the BB spindle. Is it a square taper hole, or something splined like Octalink or ISIS?
https://sheldonbrown.com/bbsize.html#shimano
And then, going from a triple to a double, you'll need a different length spindle for a double than a triple to get a good chainline.
https://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_ch.html#chainline
And then you'd be better off with a Campagnolo compatible square spindle, because using a Shimano square spindle will change the chainline.
Then you'll have to deal with changing your front shifter, which is no big deal if it is a friction shifter...but if it is STI.
Is your triple crankset shot? Personally, I have triples on all my bikes, but then I live in a very hilly area.

I got this one yesterday:
Him: is your bike still for sale
Me: Yes, both bikes are still available. Which one are you interested in? Here's my number. 555-xxxx.
Him (still in email): the blue one
I didn't even bother responding.

I was the guy the whiners were posting about earlier in the week. Everyone, and I mean everyone is calling any bike they're selling, a cruiser. If the stupidity spreads any further, you will have to look at EVERY ad if you're truly interested in a cruiser, and not a Huffy three speed. One guy even called a raleigh sports a cruiser. I got no response from him when I inquired about his reasoning.
The usual response is this word for word. "You must a lot of time on your hands if you're cruising CL" blah blah. Blah blah blah, get a life"

Not too numbskully -- other than the "touring bag" should be on the saddle -- but I think the mirror is adjusted so the rider sees themselves ...

Check out the fork on this Peugeot U08. Other than the S curve, it rides fine.

I've just recently started lurking on eBay and it seems to me that if you mention "NJS", "Track Bike" or "Fixie", you can sell any old Hi-ten frame for big bucks. And even though I'm hardly an expert on bikes, I notice so many people appear to have no clue about what they are selling. I say "appear" because I get the feeling the sellers can't possibly be that dumb/ignorant.
There's a guy selling a Gitane Tour de France but he calls it a C Service Course. He then photographs the bike but doesn't provide a nice bottom tube shot which would give us the name of the bike. Why? Apparently several people think this bike is the bomb because they've jacked the price right up with several days to go.
I guess with thousands of eyes watching eBay, a good bargain is not really going to happen that often. Especially not when you add in shipping.
Is this true? I have no way of knowing because where I live, the used bike market is practically nonexistent.
Garage sailing must be the way to go. A good way to combine riding with bargain hunting. But will the spandex make it harder to strike a deal?
