Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

So... you bought the Kent from Walmart, now you bought one of these. Instead of snapping up a stable of cheap bikes, why not save your money and get a Kilo TT or something similar at that level? The Kilo TT runs $399 with free shipping.

I just saw that Performance Bikes has the Fuji Track on sale for $325.

You're wasting your time with these cheap bikes when the Kilo TT and Fuji Track are both available.

That Framed will be no different than any of the other single speeds at that price range. I agree with iamtim, should have picked up something a little nicer for a little more. Well worth it from my experience, and that pos BigShot I ordered.

A BigShot? DON'T! Absolute garbage. I had one. I regret. All the time I regret.

I'm happy w my Framed Minnesota 3.0 Fat Bike. Of course, it was much much more than $200. You get what you pay for, I've been down the cheap (heavy) bike route and gave them to family.

1978 schwinn

funny thing . I got this old bike so I put some new bars and grips on it. it is now a single speed with a shimano crank. its actually a super nice riding bike I sit upright on it and its worth about nothing , but its awesome to ride. ill keep riding this simple single speed until I can save for a better one. this actually blows my kent away. nuthun fancy but its smooth and qiot

The brand Kent has been cheapened by Walmart and their cost cutting so much that I wouldn't take one for free. The big box store Kent's sell under several brand names, all heavy and cheap bikes with poor life expectancy.
Unfortunately, I am old enough to remember when Kent was a decent mediocre brand worth considering for the enthusiast occasional cyclist. That isn't the case anymore unfortunately. The same for Schwinn and a few other once popular name brands for the average Joe.

Nice and Huffy don't belong in the same sentence. Not since the late 70's. And even then it was questionable.
