January 2020 100 Miles/km Thread

January is just around the corner. I missed too many monthly goals last year. I'd like to get more miles than last January (432 miles), so my goal will be 500 miles.

I’m shooting for 100 .
I didn’t think I’d get a hundred in December , but the weather has had some good days .
We usually don’t have as many good days in January and February .
Setting my yearly goal at 1500 and if I can get 300 by March , I’ll increase it .
Thanks Matt for doing this every month , it helps me keep going .

Working on the idea of a goal. I kind of blew past my original goal for this month!

Edit: OK, my original goal last month was 135 miles. I hit 239... Thinking that 150 is a safe goal. And leave it at that...

If it does my goal in 500. I need to get moving I gain like 10lbs. since Thanksgiving.
I'm at 235 now my goal 210 by June 1. Doing DC to Pittsbugh ride in June.

Zwift as its Tour of Zwift 2020 starting in January if you need some extra motivation for the indoor trainer!

Well I'm up for a challenge, so this is 100m/100k spread over the month or in one ride? Any sort of bike accept electric? Proof of ride by Fitbit or something similar?

It’s whatever you want to do...we don’t judge.

Any sort of bike, no proof needed. This is basically just a way to log when we get to ride and how far. If you want to do 100 miles or km in one ride, more power to you! And if you do, be sure to come back and post.

I'm pretty sure my bike will not be outside in January. I joined a gym. Spinning is kicking my butt. Can't wait to get back on my real bike.

Flywheel spin bikes are not good for my messed up ankle. I forget, and try to coast, and it kicks my ankle into pain levels I'm not happy with for hours... So, Zwift it is on my indoor bike and trainer!!!

Rolled out the door and down the road, to find I had a flat front tire, bugger. Walked up the hill grabbed mountain bike, checked tires, added air, fitted bottle cage and road off. My old mountain bike not only rattles, a lot, but it is so, so much heavier than my road bike....

No goals, just riding.

43 miles today SOLO.

As you can see I am not one of those, "do my gloves match my tires and shoestrings?" type of guys. I just get on my bike and ride.

Perfect jersey for the day when you realize the headwind is kicking up both ways!

My goal this year is to average 75 miles a week. So my goal for January is 335 miles. I have a conference to attend that will prevent my Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday rides from happening. I will bring a bike to the conference and attempt to get one ride in. I want it to be a good one to make it count.
