Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? So who's up for a " Post your driveway paver/garage door pics" thread?

Meanwhile - cruising around by the beach today...

Things I wish I had known when I bought this bike:
  1. It takes a 26.6mm seatpost

I'm running a heavy-ass vintage MTB seatpost as a result. Derp.

Ha. Sorry dudes. I don't speak for @IAmSam, but other than being old and somewhat rare, my bike isn't particularly remarkable. There are plenty of nice bikes here.

And thanks

The size options appear a bit limited at the moment, but they usually have every size you could ever want:

Dajia Seatpost, multiple sizes - Seatposts - Components

I recently picked up a 25.4 for a silly hi-ten project I'm working on. Looks pretty good (certainly better than anything else I could find in the odd sizes), decently light, and you can't beat the price.

Thanks. Yeah, there are definitely options out there, just not the ones that I want

The bikes on this page make me want to go into the corner and curl up in the fetal position.

@velofinds. The celeste strap on bottle cage is a nice touch. What is it?

@IAmSam, that bike is spectacular and I've not see a louvered garage door.

Hi Tim,

It's a standard Elite Ciussi cage (albeit in celeste) mated to a Two Fish Quick Cage adapter, which has worked well for me. Your best bet for that cage is to search patiently on eBay, as they turn up only periodically. Happy hunting!

Did you run it with matching BB, or use a different (less expensive) one? I've heard the Veloce BB also works.

@franswa, don't think I ever noticed your chainring before. Is that new(-ish)? Very nice.
