If you leave a bike for that long with no solid communication from both ends, you aren't really someone I want in my shop. You don't care about the thing and to you it is a toy you play with when you don't have anything better to do but want someone else to keep it so it doesn't fill up your own personal space but you also don't want to pay that other person to keep it and wouldn't want them using it.

I did not ride to work today 'cause I didn't feel like messing with the rain gear this morning. However, I am off tomorrow and will be riding my bike really hard.

Your cog is slipping.
After 30 days, the owner would sell the bike on Craigslist just to cover whatever labor charge was due, which was posted openly in the shop too. It was awesome.

I am going to tell the owner about this, he might like to do something similar.

I was an elementary school teacher for the first 7 years of my career - so I know what no bonus and crap pay is like. Ive only been in this job three years an bonus eligible for two.

Today I rode my Steamroller for the first time since last Fall. It was beautiful! I was reminded of why I like that bike so much. It's not perfect, but the little faults are easy to overlook, and it handles so well. I've decided it is about the best possible bike for paved trails and casual rides around my neighborhood.

This morning on my ride to work, I watched in disbelief as an off-duty school bus sideswiped four parked cars and kept going.

...started buying Dura-Ace 7800 parts to build the Lemond back up. Have a crank, STIs, derailleurs, and a cassette so far.
I decided with less setback (my Ritchey post had 25mm setback) and shorter drop/reach bars, the fit will probably work. This should tide me over on buying new bikes until my Thrive is done.

They're all ****ing drunks. They bring elementary school kids to watch shows at my campus, when they're on standby and whenever one of them walks past me they always leave a trail of scotch vapors
