Bianchi Reparto Corse XL Boron
I scored this for what I would guess is a good deal. Could not find out much about it. Rear FSA wheel is NG. Mavic MA3 wheelset will go on it. I don't plan on keeping it because I am not a super serious Campy kinda guy and I am happy with my mid 80s Peugeot (I know Peugeot isn't cool like Bianchi). Thanks in advance for your collective expertise on the subject.

Daytona was a mid-range Campagnolo group, positioned between Chorus and Veloce. It was short lived, only being manufactured during 2000 and 2001. The subject bicycle is a 2001 model and had an MSRP of $2299 US.

I've had one bike with Daytona, a Lemond Poprad, and it was OK. What I didn't care for was the "saggy" shift levers. Yours seems to be similar. The levers looked and acted like wet noodles, something I couldn't get used to. The frame was a bit big for me anyway so I sold it off.
Hope you have fun with your recent find. It seems to have been ridden pretty hard. Personally, I'm not a fan of carbon and especially older carbon. There are quite a few scratches on those forks. Check them out carefully. Catastrophic fork failure can be deadly. If in doubt, have an experienced shop render an opinion.

Please excuse my typo in the title. It's driving me nuts. I don't speak Italian but I can spell (usually) I know it's "Corse"
Thanks T-Mar and TugaDude for your info and perspective.

I guess I'm the guy that disappeared it. It is now sporting (what I assume to be) the original campy wheelset with Mavic MA3 rims.
Something tells me you have a better idea of what this bike is worth than I do. What do you think?

Using the cosmetic condition of the bike as a barometer of the maintenance history, I think that the asking price was a little above FMV. I'd have to totally overhaul it and factor in the parts cost to replace all of the consumables.

Way late to this, but have a circa-2000 XL Boron I had built with all Chorus. Great ride...has made it hard to buy anything new since the ride is so sweet and it weighs in at 18lbs with Hed Belgium rims. Mine's a little cleaner, but the super-thick paint and clearcoat crazed/cracked within a couple of years. A few dings around the rear brake bridge revealed a whole 'nother black/celeste paint job underneath. Always wondered the story behind that.
