Today someone emailed the shop asking if I could build a 12" rear wheel using a Sram Automatix coaster brake IGH for this.

I am struggling a bit with picturing it being possible, though....

People against wearing helmets are all thinking "pshhh the rider's skull would've held up just as well".
They drink the same special juice that anti-vaxxers do.

today i got my bike back from the hospital! the fools had put someone else name on it. but they asked me to identify it and i was like "well, its a 60cm silver galvanized swobo sanchez with a Look HSC4 carbon fork, cane creek headset, Deda quatro stem, ritchey drop bars, mismatched bontrager wheelset... bontrager xxxlite seatpost... rainbow brake cable housing... vintage diacompe front brake..... crosstop lever..... do you need more info or??"
anyway, important news is that it appears to be almost completely undamaged! the point of impact was apparently my saddle (posting pics later) which was worth 10$. i was probably standing out of it thankfully, as my butt seems unscathed.
oh yeah, speaking of which, the damage to MY body... my kneecap was definitely in 3 pieces. i've got 2 big screws and 1 little one holding it all together. i'm about 2 days post op, and things have stabilized.... the first night i was home from the hospital was the worst pain i've ever felt in my life, last night was better but still bad. today is mostly much better. still kinda thankful that it wasn't worse i guess

i just went to put the skinny wheels back on the trek, which necessitated me putting tubes in
clean the old cassette, put it on, remount tires and put tubes in, pump up wheel #1 up to ~40psi and tube explodes
****ing dumb skinny tire bikes and their dumb tubes.

I wish someone made single cable stops that aren't ugly. Problem Solvers used to, but no longer.

Nope they are legit lugs!
It's a steel stem so it's a couple grams heavier than aluminum stems.
The one pictured is cheaper than the nitto because it's made in China and has less complex lugs.
I've actually seen an even more uncommon version of the tange lugged stem with more intricate lugs at a trade show:
I do not believe they produced it beyond a sample though.
