1980s Schwinn Worlds
Thinking of buying a 1980s World Schwinn off of a neighbor for $75. I’m new to this so I wanted to see if this was worth it.

If it's in good condition and, everything works - then $75 is a reasonable price. The real value in the Schwinn World is the lugged steel frame built by Giant in Taiwan. Excellent stuff. The weak point in them was the stamped or riveted chainwheels with the crappy stamped metal guard. These cheap chainwheels & chrome steel wheels disappeared sometime in the late 80's. About the same time that Schwinn USA disappeared.
