The Picture of JOY!!
Remember when you accomplished something that you felt was a challenge but weren't sure if you could do it? Here's a photo of my wife who completed her longest ride ever at Glenwood Springs. She's been off the bike for several years due to school, starting her own business plus nursing an injury.
On the trail
On the homestretch!!
Celebration!!
It was tough the last few miles as we had a pretty good headwind plus it was warming up but she resisted quitting and letting me go get the car. She even made it up "No Name Hill" which has a nice kick to it. I didn't want to tell her that for most of the ride my heart rate was just above my resting rate because of the moderate pace. Hey, I still remember that first 12 mile ride I did a few years ago-plus her bike outweighed mine by about 20 pounds. Proud of her!!

Is her name JOY? Perhaps it should be. If not, it does not in any way diminish her excitement or pride in accomplisment!
Tomorrow (a few hours from now) my wife JOY of 35yrs will join me in her 2nd club ride. Last Sat we went 37.3 mi on a club ride our new Lambo tandem. She hung in there, but after about 30 mi she started fading. This was not yet her sport.
Tomorrow my son, 30, 6.'4" will captain her while I accompany them on THEIR first club ride. He's a much more powerful and durable rider than I, so I think she will have a more enJOYable ride.
I really enJOYed your triumphant photos! Keep it up. It will make you feel much younger, and extend your life! What a deal.

Don't mince words
Well done, Mrs. jppe! That's terrific!
When I lived there, No Name hill was hiked, not ridden. Glad to see the improvement.

Yes! Way to Go! The neatest part is that you are there being a support to your wife and also sharing her joy and elation with completing the journey!

Good job!! I've felt that joy and there's almost nothing like it. You didn't mention the elevation there, another reason for her well-earned celebration.
