This is my "OLD MANS" bicycle. Due to arthritis, I can't keep my neck in a bent position! Can't afford a recumbent so the "Comfort Bike", that let's you sit very close to "straight up", is the machine for me!

I've gone and built another one...
Meet "Velo de Ville No. 2":
This is a city-bike build on a Peugeot PFN-10 "Course" frame. The tubeset is Vitus 181.
Just enough carrying capacity to make it useful, but not weigh it down.
For drivetrain mods, I simply pulled the FD and outer chainring, and put on a heavily-reworked Velo Orange Plume Alaire. Now I can ride dressed in work clothes.
She looks right at home in her intended environment.

... but I ended up trading it for a couple of old lugged-steel roadbikes. I guess the 8-speed Alfine and disc brakes were too good for me. I just couldn't get myself to appreciate the modern aesthetic, and I truly hated bleeding those brakes! Good riddance...
Edit - Oh, and the wrap on the water bottle is a process called "twining". This activity is particularly well-suited to a long, cold Minnesota winter; it involves wrapping string or twine around whatever object you like, and then coating it with shellac. This practice is popular with Rivendellians.

When I see an old guy riding a bike, I'll let you know what they ride. But at 61, this is what I'm riding at the moment... LOL! that can change though...
Well, I've been riding road bikes since my first one around 14 years old. It was a Raleigh... I've done lots of long distance and some local amateur races though the years. A few years back, I wanted something different so I got a Bacchetta recumbent. Never got used to it.... but I still wanted something different and comfortable. So I found a nice used 2011 RANS Alterra 700 crank forward. Very nice.. so far I like it. Its comfortable. Who knows, I'll likely get something else soon. I usually do. Ha!
This one isn't stock.
SRAM force components. SRAM double tap brake/shift levers, FSA headset, Origin8 hubs, tektro brakes, Shimano PD-M8020 pedals, custom color, 700x25 tires, Wahoo Mini computer.

How much does it weigh with pedals? Because I can't consider it a bicycle if it doesn't have them.
