For any of you folks that have the Ti or 853 whipshots, I’d be curious to know what the tire clearance is like...what width do you think they can run? They come with 33mm tires, BD says 40mm will fit...does that seem about right? Any wider?

I didn't realize they made a 11-42.....the bike has a 11-36 I think so that would give me a bit more ease on the uphills. I might wait a bit as the wife will be pretty dubious of upgrades required on this expensive bike.....
I was very curious about 650 wheel on this bike as well. Again, a bit of a cost issue, but definitely some wider tires will fit if the diameter goes down. I remember seeing a pretty good video review of some extra poor condition handling with this setup. I think this winter will be on the same wheels for cost issues.
I'm one of those skeptical guys with carbon frames. I tend to go over on occasion and have definitely put some dents in frames and chipped paint from impacts. I feel if this happened on a carbon frame, it would be game over. The Titanium frame seems pretty awesome in comparison especially with a 100yr warranty from ORA. You can tell it's built very well. Carbon frames are pretty hard to tell (how do you know with some of the Chinese carbon frames out there? These are really the only way to build a comparable bike with carbon anyways.
Now I'm off to shop for studded tires......it's snowing at the moment up here.

interesting enough I just compared the Whipshot Ti to the Motobecane Century PRO Ti Disc
the Whipshot has 5mm shorter chainstays and then the head tubes are smaller on the whipshot. Which also plays a part in wheelbase.
which makes the Whipshot look like a super fun playful bike. which makes me even more curious to it being on 650x47

BD does’t have any products made proprietary by anyone. Thats how they keep cost low. They’re all basically last years models from Fuji or some other company. Not that that’s a bad thing.

A frame jig is easily manipulated by 0.25 degree to not get nailed with copyright. *Cough* Gary Fisher/Gravity Point 1-5 or however many different versions they sold.
Which is why we won't see a Carbon Whipshot. Making a Mold is not Profitable.
Which is also why People like Salsa sale Carbon bikes at stupidly high prices, because they have limited runs.
As for BD, I am not *****ing. LOL I love my Dawes SST AL frame made by Kinesis Especially When I bought it from Bikeisland at $280 instead of the $430. But Times change.... 25c is yesterday.
I don't want a Kilo WT, so here I am looking at the Whipshot.
I think that of BD made a reasonable Light weight SS frame that had room for 700x38/40 It would sell. Bring back the Phantom Uno with the current Gravel Geos.

Whipshot Ti
Just ordered my Whipshot Ti last night, crazy value to be sure can't wait. First Ti frame for me and a very good one at that unless your watching someone weld your's at 3,500 frame only you'd probably be inclined or shamed to disagree, as for what is hanging on this bike it all speaks for itself and I might add in a very loud way for just 2,400. All terrain types here in Calif and I'm confident it'll do well in all of it. I just ordered a Sram Xsync 40T chainring to replace the 42T and have a Prologo Kappa Evo saddle waiting for it. We'll go tubless right out of the box! Presently on a Raleigh XC 2.0 Rival 1 love these bikes on off capabilities.

I got the Mulekick Pro CX in Dec2017 for $1200 and love it. I put a Sunrace 11-42 cassette on for steeper climbing. I didn't know the Whipshot was coming out, obviously would have preferred to get Whipshot Ti instead of Mulekick.
But now I am considering getting this $2100 carbon Immortal Disc Pro SL. One concern I have is the bottom bracket, not sure it is "press fit". I've been trying to avoid getting a bike with press fit BB, all my current bikes have simple threaded BSA BB.
Any comments welcome, sorry if I'm hijacking OP.

Carbon vs Titanium that is what is spinning in my mind all my bikes are aluminum framed some have carbon fiber handlebars and seat posts but that is it. Oh and my cx and gravel bike have carbon fiber forks. The Moto Ti Whipshot sure looks sweet.

From my limited experience now, I'm definitely happy with the Ti rather than carbon. I'm not worried whatsoever about the frame despite our winter conditions. I've now had a few rides in pretty poor conditions.

The bike cuts through 12" of powder snow fairly effortlessly. Everytime however that I find some packed tracks, the tires slide off and really shake you. It is almost amusing at how wildly you can get sidetracked. Roads are tough as sometimes the wet packed snow will let you stay on top, but sometimes you cut through without warning.
My MTB with studs was easier with the ruts, but didn't slice through the snow as well. A bit of a trade-off for sure.
By the way, the neoprene bike mitts are awesome.

It is nice how narrow tires slice through snow - I look for the deep stuff though and avoid the ruts.
Those Scwalbe's with the studs away from the center and up more on the sides look like the way to go.

Awesome bike and the titanium frame looks great. I bought a gravel bike from Bikes Direct last year... Motobecane Omni Strada Comp. Got 0% interest through Paypal. My gravel bike is nowhere near as nice as what you have, but I'm very happy with it. My Moto has an aluminum frame with Shimano 105 components. I had the LBS assemble and fine tune it for $60. Motobecane bikes are underrated, IMO. This gravel bike rides and performs as well as bikes that cost twice as much.... see Trek, Cannondale and Specialized. IMHO, Gravel riding is more fun than road riding... and less stressful (traffic).

Wow, thanks for sharing your experience with this bike. Just saw this bike now that I'm looking for a winter gravel/cx bike. Definitely on the top of my list as soon as I sell my extra carbon road bike.

to whoever wanted to know about tire clearance: it definitely does not fit 650b panaracer gravelking sk 48mm
i currently have 700x38 gravelking sk on it and that's probably as big as it can handle (limiting factor is the chainstay clearance)

also after looking at the pictures above, the chainstay area of the titanium frames vs the 853 frames looks somewhat different. (the 853 frames have dimples for tire clearance whereas the titanium frames don't look like this have this accommodation. perhaps the clearance is even smaller for the titanium frames?

I'm looking closely at this model and wonder if you did weigh the finished product? Also now that you have ridden it could you comment on the balance and handling?
I'm currently riding a Kestrel Talon Tri bike and would like something more comfortable and stable for commuting but hopefully not sacrificing too much in weight and performance.Previous bikes Trek carbon tube road bike 1200?, 1980s Ironman road bike, 1970s hand made HURLEY Reynolds 531, personalized lugs, campy record
