Stick with a single speed and get a WI DOS Eno freewheel way cooler and nicer.

Can you shoot me a link to that freewheel?

THIS is my latest project - this is meant to be my interim bike until I can get my Langster the way I want it, then it will be retired to happy hour runs w/ the wife, playing w/ the kids and maybe even set it up for gravel...

I had the same thought you suggest: If I really enjoy riding single speed, I may just save the expense, throw on a freewheel cog and ride it the way it was meant to....

UPDATE: Just went out to the garage and made some "stops" on the housing to prevent the cable from moving too far forward ... thanks again.

FREEWHEELS ? White Industries

Also this but it is meant more for Moun-tain bikes then road bikes but is a cool front crank:
DOUBLE DOUBLE ? White Industries

All their stuff is made in America and is top quality. I love all of their products that I have (two freewheels and T11 hubs and a hat)

Awesome! The double could be my solution to using this bike for both commuting/gravel and camping riding on logging roads!!

I just went out and messed with it, it's more comfy this way, puts all the pressure on your backside and no pressure on the front of the house.

I vaguely remember setting up my MTB like this when I was like 21 and ready to buy a new saddle for the pain it was causing...

It would be pretty awesome. That is sort of what they intended it for. Riding to the trail head and then riding the trail.

2015 Cinelli Mash Histogram. Been collecting parts for this build over the passed year. Finally found the frame for a reasonable price and in my size. Been super happy with it so far, excited to put many o' mile on this bike.

^Maybe if the seat was lowered and the bike given to a shorter rider?

I hope the price was very reasonable, because that frame definitely isn't your size.

My LBS fitted me at a 59. I'm a weird shape. I have disproportionately long legs.

A traditional 59cm track frame having a level top tube fits nothing like a 59cm Histogram, which is much closer to a 56cm frame. I'm 5'10" and what Cinelli calls "59cm" (based on the c-c seat tube measurement) is what I'd ride.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I'm just saying that you maybe should've been looking for the next size up.

Makes sense - good to know! I'll work with what I have for now, will be helpful info if my next frame has pursuit geo.

OK. We need to see a picture of you riding the bike, profile side of course. Lean it against a wall, ride it, whatever. Have someone take a clear and level picture. Only after we see this can we say, yeah, it is too big or whatever. If you are comfortable on it, that is all that matters. Me? I should probably be on a 56 for all of my bikes, but none of them are a 56. I hate the feel and look of myself on a small frame because I have a disproportionately long torso for my height.

tl;dr - post a picture of you on the bike.

It's a Sturmey-Archer S3X. Also, the saddle is about the right height for me (I might have to raise it a little).
