Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New into cycling the past few years. Been manufacturing carbon composite sailing equipment long before the cycling industry. The frames are designed by BMW Design works USA. Ridden by UHC pro cycling.

This is the only reason I've heard of them. I was flipping through pro bikes from the Tour of California when I stumbled across UHC Pro Cycling's armada of Neilpryde Alize. I looked them up. I wouldn't mind riding one of them.

ill tell you one thing, the lowest end (i believe) of the non-hi-mod supersix is slightly stiffer, and also it is kills road vibrations better than the caad10. just my 2cents. im comparing it with the full ultegra caad10.

Are you talking about the non-hi-mod Supersix EVO or the cheaper "not-EVO" Supersix?

I have the non-evo as well and I find it quite comfortable. But then again, I'm comparing it to a CAAD8 which I rode for a year, which wasn't uncomfortable, but could feel everything in the road.

A Cat 3 buddy on my team got a Supersix as a cash replacement for his CAAD10. He says he prefers the CAAD10 - something about its handling and responsiveness is perceived as being a little better. I've never ridden a Supersix, but I prefer my CAAD10 over my Cervelo R3, if that says anything.

That's some solid remarks, jtwilson! I definitely love my CAAD as well. I wouldn't consider trading it for much. I look forward to seeing what 2014 brings. If they gave the CAAD10 a slightly aero advantage and kept the price similar, I'd probably buy one, and I'm not even due for an upgrade.

I might have a few upgrades coming to my CAAD10 soon. Once I get my paycheck, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on some Deda Newton 31 Shallow handlebars in 42cm (o-o) to see how they feel. I want to play around with the classic bend, and I think my 42cm (c-c) are a tad wide. My knee has been giving me trouble, so I haven't been able to get out at all since my "triathlon".

I honestly doubt we will see any aero shapes coming to the CAAD line, like ever. But it's still gotta be a lot more aero than the R3 with it's square downtube - that always bothered me. I am hoping for better color options for 2014 though, in case I wreck my 2012 10-1.

I have 42cm c-c bars too, and I also feel that I could go more narrow, getting a more aero position out of it. I feel quite a bit wider than need be in the drops. I am sold on the classic bend bars. It takes a ride or two to get used to the ramps angling downward into the hoods, but it leaves you with three height options since the tops are higher than the hoods. I find the drops a lot more comfortable as well, and this is where I spend the majority of my time on hard training rides or races.

Fellow CAADicts - I need your help. I crashed my CAAD 10 5 and the frame is toast. I'm looking for a CAAD 10 frame, size 56cm or suggestions. I found a 2010 SuperSix Carbon frame on eBay which I understand has the same geometry as my CAAD but given my love of the CAAD, I'd rather get a new frame. Please help! I need to replace my bike soonest as I'm losing valuable Spring road time.

Your LBS can't get you a new frame? Or are you looking for used to save money?

I just dropped the wreck off at the LBS. They didn't inspire confidence in Cannondale's ability to provide a frame. Apparently, Cannondale didn't produce many CAAD 10s and they are back ordered. Having said that, saving money is always good

So guys, after recovering from a work related back injury, my doc thinks it would be wise if I were to ride a more upright bike (possibly even recumbent) so I am thinking of selling my 2010 CAAD9-5 to help pay for another bike. Only problem is I have no idea of a fair price. Frame is in pristine condition (never seen rain), I've sold the Mavic Carbone SL's that were on it. Should I just upgrade my membership here and wing it? Any input would certainly be appreciated. Thanks!

JTwilson- I was going up to auburn and while passing through I keep an eye out through the ft. Lewis area but knew it would be few to no chances of seeing you leaving base on the bike. I might have to plan a visit on my next travel up and maybe catch A ride with ya?

Absolutely! There are some fantastic routes on the back roads through the Eastern portion of Ft Lewis, all the way out to the base of Mt. Rainier. Just shoot me a PM when you plan on coming through and we will work out a link up. I will be migrating back to my Ohio homeland this December for a return to civilian life.

My LBS told me $744 or something for a new CAAD10 frame on crash replacement. But no time frame. I however a also bent my rear mavic ksyrium elite. So 6600 group set on a new CAAD10 frame plus buying a rear wheel that won't match the front? They also told me they would give me $400 credit for the 6600 group and front wheel on a Force racing. I am actually thinking new CAAD10 Rival and then maybe trying to find an older CAAD frame for the 6600 group set for rainy days and winter riding. Either that letting them have the crashed bike and grabbing a CAAD10 + Quick SL 2. And then doing the Quick SL for winter, and my here n there riding needs. It might be time to retire the giant cypress.

There are frames on ebay. I am surprised your LBS can't get one.

The wife and kids going back to see the mother in law for 2 weeks June 20th. I might have to see about coming up in that time since I will have no commitments (other than work during the week)

ricohman - found a frame on eBay in my size at a good price. I haven't bought from eBay before, but the seller is 100% positive rated and with eBay's buyer protection my risks seem limited. Thanks for the tip.
