All I know is that I weigh approx 170lbs and on occasion it was dangerous riding with my 50mm wheels when the wind got up. They were the ‘old shape’ though.

So, for me, it wasn't about wind speed as much as it was about wind direction.

I've never measured the cross-section of my 4" Fat B Nimble tires, but I can tell you that a gusting cross-wind will grab the front wheel and cause you some control issues.

That would be DNF (or DNR=did not ride) for me in that event, on any bike, was anyone else using a fatbike?
How many riders dropped out?
