Im looking for my first MTB and can across a few on craigslist. If i can get a full suspension bike at a good price on my first try should i pull trigger or go hard tail.
Okay for weeks i been looking at Hybrids only because i could do road and trail. Im new so I didnt know bike would not be good for trails. Im back at square 1.

If you have the money for the full suspension go for it. I believe that its the better bike out of the two. the trance has a fox shock with MRP add on and 1x. for the money thats a great bike.

That talon while is a decent bike you can get new for around the same price. might be the only upgrade is the rockshox fork. I think its overpriced at 400.

On the subject of riding trails and road. I have both bikes. I ride my mountain bike on the streets and it does fine. I wouldnt want to ride it on a 50 100 mile ride but yesterday we took a ride around the lake and It did fine for the 10 miles. friend of mine has a FS Scott and was comfortable around the whole thing. if you decide to get into road riding as well as trails get a road bike as a second bike no reason you cant have both.

It all depends on what kid of trails you'll be riding. If they're just gravel type and nothing hardcore, you can do with the hardtail as you don't really need full suspension on the road. Plus hardtails climb better than some fs bikes.Now if you're going to be riding chunkier and more aggressive trails, I'd go with the Giant.

I unsure about the hard trails yet because i haven't cross that bridge yet. I'm new so don't know whats coming my way yet. Well I was asking because most FS bikes are expensive but if i could get a good price then jump on it. That person asking 1,050 but i could offer 900 or 950??? I hate craigslist sometimes I emailed the person a few times and no response yet. Maybe i could offer 850 900? Didnt want to low ball and insult them lol. Well it wasnt any number to call just email first to scare away the scammers. I'm still waiting on a reply from them smh

Trek Stache 8 29er hardtail - $950

Up for sale is my (wife’s)Trek Stache 8 29er hardtail - Garry Fisher Collection. From bottom of the frame to the seat post clamp it is 19”. Medium? I believe it’s a ‘14 or ‘15. After 1 fall at North Meck and “it’s too big” complaining, I can say with 100% confidence this bike has less than 100 miles on it. There are 2 scratches in the paint I can find. Everything else is perfect. Let me know if you need more pictures.

Seems like a good bike for the price. In all reality though you need to try these things out for fit. Or visit the local bike shop

I been to my local bike shop a few times and i can do a small or medium so far on everything i tested.

It's always best to test fit the actual bikes you're interested in. So many gray areas in bike geometry.
