We stayed at Sun Mountain Lodge.
Which had a great restaurant.

Came for Rainier pics, left confused but not disappointed.
Maybe I should do North Cascades some time this year. The only time I've ridden it was while touring in 2016.

June 2nd will mark the 20 anniversary of the first time I rode it. Crossed the U.S. from west to east. Spent the night before at Colonial Creek and then the next two nights at the Winthrop KOA. It was a bit snowy that year.

I really don't get down to Rainier much. Not my place, I guess. John Muir was right about the North Cascades; going to the mountains is going home.

When I got home and looked at the data, it says I was 16 watts below a PR. Wish I'd known that at the time, I would have been able to dig deeper. I was just trying to get up the pass quickly.

Incredible!!!!!! I did the 100 mile ride from Colonial Creek to Mazama and back last September and the snow was all gone. I gotta do it earlier this year to get those epic views of snow capped peaks!
