Shimano RSX upgrade questions

Hi, I have a Schwinn Passage that uses a Shimano RSX groupset and I'm looking for an upgrade. I just want to know if the bottom bracket and other things would be compatible with a Shimano 105 groupset. I'm fine with replacing everything like wheels if needed but I just need to know if it's possible.

Thanks
-Kable

If you’re planning to upgrade from 8-speed RSX to current 11-speed 105, you’ll need to replace pretty much everything, including wheels. You can probably keep the brake calipers.

I don’t think so. RSX was square taper. Current 105 is outboard.
