Sure saves on $$, doesn't it? I personally use mostly Banjo Brothers bags, I'll post a pic in a few days of my cheapie with touring load on, I'm doing a ride mid March over spring break, a 256 mile loop here in the Hoosier State

I'm glad to see that you're enjoying your Nomad as it's a really good, go anywhere machine. It enjoys a good reputation here in the UK and deservedly so.
I advised a friend of mine , who was new to serious cycling, to buy one, and now after several centuries she's set her sights on completing 200 miles in a day. She loves that machine.

Here's mine! Might not be the most expensive bike on the road, but it does the job surprisingly well! I've put quite a few miles on this ol' gal!

But when touring with kids, I find that I don't do too many miles per gallon... of ice cream!

I wanted to thank Ted and "kamoke" for their comments about my Nishiki and my trip.
I had been a member of Adventure Cycling for 7 years by the time I finally did that short training tour with them. I had spent about two years shaping up and developing that bike after I bought it out of someone's garage. So it was a big deal to stand there at the end, and pose for that picture.
I have more pictures, at my Flickr account.
Also, thanks to the other posters for the photos. My sympathies to Azure, who's only ridden in Tibet and Nepal- maybe you'll get the chance to get out a little more!

From your photos﹐ i recall the memory for my last trip in june 2005 travel from Lhasa to kathmandu through the friendship highway。 It is really really nice and beautiful﹗ ﹗ ﹗ but i was crossing the highest world friendly highway via bus﹐ guess this must be a very tough journey for you﹐ cause laCK water and with thin air in tibet area。i hope to clim the mt kailash next time

The gallery I've provided a link to has become a must see for those wanting to drool over Heavily Loaded / Expedition Loaded or Fully Loaded touring bikes. Specifically, those with four panniers or two panniers and a trailer.

Also, you don't see a single bike there with less than four panniers or two and a trailer. Just sticking with my original vision for the gallery. Additionally, the bikes are over half the width of the image. This is something of a tribute page to these bicycles so they should be seen.
BTW...I don't care if it's a bargain bicycle as long as the image was taken on tour and the load and photo quality requirements have been met. High quality images kick @ZZ and we're sticking with `em. Extra drool for stunning scenery but the bike should remain fairly large in the frame.
FYI, the average image size sent to me has been 1M and I'm skeptical when I see one below 500K but the orange recumbent somehow pulled off that level of quality with only 180ish KB. I've received a few images coming in at 2MB. That's fine by me because I can resize or crop as needed. I can also do minor quality improvements so if you think you're almost there on quality then send it.
Enjoy the show and pass the word on or link to it from your page. There's a lot of sweet looking setups out there that we'd all like to be looking at. I'm happy to be paying for the storage space and taking the time to post them. Keep them coming!

Schwinn Transit on Feb-06 tour in Texas, sitting on the Jack/Palo Pinto County lines and leaning against Hwy 281 sign. Note the USGS survey benchmark in the background. We were pointed into a 30 mph gusting to 45 mph wind this day. It took me 5 hours to make 40 miles. A very long day in the saddle.
97 Schwinn Transit hybrid (aka Capt. Marcy), modified with Brooks B-67 saddle, Shimano 14-34 cassette, Jannd racks, SPD Cannondale panniers all around. The stock 38 mm tires have been replaced with 700x32 Schwalbe Marathon. Usually equipped with a set of Gilles Berthoud fenders but they are off the bike at this time.

here she is... all loaded up... total weight of bike (without panniers, water ) 30lbs. totaly weight of panniers and gear as pictured not counting water 40 lbs. So, total weight of bike loaded 70lbs.
