'61 Paramount comes out for some sunshine

Had to pull the '61 P12 and the '82 Superior out for some shed rearrangement today; took a few photos while I was at it. Enjoy:

Pretty bikes. Did that RD come with the bike or did you add it?

On the Paramount? It's the original Gran Sport RD to the frame - one of the few bits that survived:

Do you control humidity or have to worry about it in that shed? Been thinking about what I need to do on a couple of storage areas.

Thanks!

FYI - bear with me, GoDaddy is giving me trouble with my site's hosting and domain. Photos should be back up later this afternoon.

They're 700x28C's. 27" rims don't fit that well under this frame, even though it was designed for it.

Uncontrolled. The only problem I've had is dusting the mold off Brooks saddles (it is best if one does not dress them with saddle soap), and gum hoods melting. You might notice all the shed bikes except the '61 Paramount do not have hoods, and the hoods on said Paramount haven't fared that well.

Interesting. Because I was always told the last year for the cable adjustment nut was 1959. From 1960-1963 it was eliminated.

Either that "fact" is bunk. Or your bike is older than 1961. Or sometime in the last 40 years someone swapped out the RD with an older one.

If I were to guess, the last one would seem the most likely.

My bet is that that Gran Sport RD was in the parts bin for two years. My '70 P13-9 has a non-dated 1969 RD, and the '72 has a PATENT-70. Both are original RD's to each bike.

Enjoyed them, thank you. But I'd enjoy your Paramount more if it were between my legs!

Probably. I was going to put your Brooks Pro on that '79 Raleigh Professional frameset I bought, but that didn't work out.

I've been quite busy, so the saddle swap hasn't been of high priority. It's been in my display case for the last couple of weeks awaiting the swap.
