If only....... would that be a sweet gig, or what?

One of my other interests - sharing some range time with the family. Mom spotting, daughter on the trigger. Daughter is 8 in this picture, and 14 now. She was coached by "yours truly" to Distinguished Expert - Light Rifle, and fired her final qualifying score the day before she turned 10. She is now gettng to be a pretty fair hand with a pistol.... just in time for dating. :

Nice!
I miss going shooting with my friends and their rifles. Both were WW2 collectors primarily, meaning I still have yet to shoot anything in .223 or .308.
I want to get my firearms liscence at some point, and I know that a 6.5x55mm swede will find its way into my hands when I can get around to that expensive hobby.

Too much writing, need pics!

Firearms License, we don't need no stinking Firearms License. In South Dakota you only need a license if you want to carry a concealed pistol, and this is a must issue
state meaning they cannot deny the license without just cause. I need to get mine renewed again, I think it is $10 for 5 years.

My buddy Rick, prepping his '62 Cessna before taking it up for a spin.

His custom 70's MGB that him and his son did all the work on, including shoehorning in a small block V-8. This guy is dyed-in-the-wool old school.

If she gets a concealed carry license all she needs to do is show that to some hormone driven young lad and that will be enough if not then ok dad be cleaning the Glock when he comes to pick her up.

Yes. Distinguished Expert. For those of you not in the sport/competitive shooting world, that is the top of the pile and not many attain it. You need the skill (of course), but that can be learned. The other, more critical, two components are mental/physical discipline coupled with being able to establish and work towards a long term goal. Quite an accomplishment for a "not quite" 10 year old girl.

Oh - that looks like a little Winchester, but it is a Marlin 15YN "Little Buckaroo" that I worked over into a target rifle. Finding good target rifles for children isn't as easy as it used to be, so I made one up.

+1...... good advice no matter what the activity. The days FLY by, and are gone forever all too soon.

Daddy don't do Glock....Daddy is a C&V type of guy, and has a fondness for 1911's.

Yes, it's a 1990 VFR750F. The pic is just as old...taken in L.I., NY, of my then-new Honda. Survived the ex-wife, and awaiting a total overhaul for it to be road worthy.

Those were taken when she was 8 and at 10 she is still very interested in all things mechanical... I found a top end GT mtb with 24 inch wheels and we are gonna have fun turning it into a city bike as she will soon outgrow her beloved 3 speed cruiser.
