Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Ha, pretty good, as far as bike humor goes. Unfortunately, sometimes, I am this dude when I'm on my roadie.

I'm ashamed to say that I can relate to everything in that video.

I dated a girl who's sister says to her, "He races bikes. That's interesting. Does it pay? No? Then why does he do it?"

Dude, that's T-pick!!!

Funny story with T-pick, he used to be my a substitute teacher at my school and now we occasionally hang out in the same bike "scene"...so weird.

@OP: Who's your bro?

This Dylan right? I've rode with him once, it was a hilly road ride and had my ass dropped. I was much weaker and on a fixie, whereas they were on road bikes.

Our local velodrome holds an annual event called "Buranby X days", X represents how many days the event is going to last. This is a courier race, where local couriers get to race other couriers on the track. Quite fun, really.

Here's a video:

For those of you who watch this and this video, you'll noticed that the bearded purple shirt guy is the same bearded purpled shirt guy in the SRSLY video.

Learn about paralympic track cycling. I have a few friends that are disabled and kick ass on the track. Many compete on the Elite level.

The commentator is a very nice guy, also a veteran at the track...totally forgot his name though.

Burnaby Velodrome is such a fun track to ride on, kind of short but could get quite fast.
