Performance backorders
I ordered something online from Performance the day after Thanksgiving. They sent me an email saying they hoped to ship the order within 3 - 4 weeks and would let me know when it shipped, but I haven't heard anything else from them. Has anyone else received backordered item(s) from them ordered during their going out of business sale?

I doubt you will receive the backorder. Reading the bankruptcy activity, suppliers are not shipping product to them.

I hope you paid with a credit card, and can reverse the charge.

If the place had any integrity it didn't charge his card until shipping.

Haven't seen that they are shutting down online sales, only that their stores are closing. But the bankruptcy thing - including what texbiker added above - would lead me towards considering cancelling a backordered purchase.

I wouldn't hold my breath, and unless it was a Performance only thing, would probably move my order to another retailer if I still needed it.

If they did charge his card, I would reverse the charge now instead of becoming an unsecured creditor

This whole thing is sad. I remember thinking when they opened stores, “what are they doing?” Clearly going bankrupt was the plan. Used to have great clothes and was a great place to get mail order parts at a decent price. Both them and Nashbar. A strength where the LBS was somewhat lacking, particularly in getting components. Just sad.
