Question about shimano 105 FD-5600 compatibility

I bought a cyclocross bike with the shimano 105 groupset, but it has a 46/36 chainring. I want to changeover to a 50/34 compact crankset, but in the specs for my front derailuer (fd-5600), it says it can accomodate 15 teeth difference in chainring size only. There seem to be a lot of bikes available with the shimano 105 front derailuer and a 50/34T crankset. Is it ok to just ignore the specification, or am I missing something when I read the specs? I looked up all the shimano 105 variations on bikes.shimano.com and none of them allow for a 16T difference, except the new for 2010 FD-5700.

Thanks for the help.

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Shimano is VERY conservative in their derailleur tooth difference ratings. You should have no problems.

I'd be more concerned about the wrap capacity of the RD.

I am running that FD with a 50/34 and it shifts fine. I am also running a 12/27 cassette with a standard cage 105 RD with no problems.
