New help identify frame and age.

Morning All ,

Council let me have a bicycle which came out of a new shed I hired.

Would be good to know If anyone can identify the brand make or model thanks.

I did a bit of research to start:

crank is 52t biopace
Rear derailleur is a shimano RD MC 14 (alvio?)
looks like the bars are newer as the stem is a system ex brand and delta stem.
cane creek headset by vp model A41AC
Seat is a very worn out Italia stella
Ritchey seat steam
Shimano Srl front and rear breaks similar to exage 300s
frame is not magnetic. Crank and handle bars are.
frame number starts with jsg
frame ending 391 could be the year?
front tyre Hutchinson equinox
rear tyre continental gatorskin
no front derailleur however mount for one(could do with an idea of what to mount onto it)

Any idea what brand this is? Or age and maybe even if it's worth putting some work into.

Wont let me post the images but will try again in a moment.

Thanks

You won't be able to post pictures until you have made 10 posts. You're almost there.

Also missing front derailleur and has this instead... would be good to know what system would work.

Whew, that bike likely has gone through some significant changes.

The Aero fork doesn't jibe well with the fenders and significant tire clearance.

Hunt for a serial number. Also perhaps remove the fork, and look at the steer tube for markings.

Are the tubes round, oval, or teardrop?

Do you have a weight of the bike as configured?

I'm guessing you're somewhere around 2005, and a mid-quality frame.

Thanks Clifford.

Yes looks as though it has due to all the new/old parts. Not sure if that biopace was standard on this bike maybe someone chopped a few bikes together.

I removed the front fork from the bike. The steerer tube is round. There were some marking on the tube:

TG
04 08
0R M0

Not easy to read also noticed theres a bolt which holds the forks onto the steere tube.

Bicycle weighs about 11kgs 25pounds...on the heavy side it seems.
