Completed my '89 Bridgestone MB3 quarantine project. Built this up from a frame I bought from a neighbor.
A fun mix of parts: vintage Nitto bullmoose bars, Shimano Deore levers, Suntour power thumb shifters, NOS Deore hubs laced to Rhyno Lite rims, vintage Deore XT FD, modern Deore RD, late 80s Deore cranks, original BB and seatpost, and a NOS Hite Rite

@dickbandit, ^ that's a nice look on the MB-3. Clean and yet purposeful. The yellow cable housing adds a minor bit of za-za-zing!, but it works.

Finished the MB-4 this morning. Threw in a few parts I had laying around: Juli Furtado Selle saddle, Girvin stem, Lizard Skins protector, switched to a riser. Replaced the Suntour drivetrain to Deore LX. I installed all my LX parts except the wheels as I wanted to keep the Ritcheys. Hookworms are temporary until I find some better tires.

I have what I think was a 1997, 98 or 99 Schwinn Mesa GSX. I rode it a lot when I first bought it and then slowly started upgrading parts. The first upgrade was the front fork (Suntour?) to a Marzocchi Bomber Z4. It came with a Shimano LX rear derailleur but all the rest of the components were lower quality. So I upgraded the front derailleur, cranks, chainrings, rear cassette to LX as well. I replaced the handle bar, seatpost and stem with Titec parts. And put new rims on her. Sun Rhyno Lites. She's really a nice bike. I would go on rides with guys on much more expensive bikes and I never got dropped. I can't post a pic just yet because I can only post 5 posts a day and this will my 5th today and my 10th total. So tomorrow I should be able to post a pic.

Dawes Break
Took The Ranger out for a quick ride during lunch last week. I just realized that I didn't post it in this thread. The only change I've made since the last post is that I turned the handlebar rightside-up. The old-school upside-down Path Racer setup works well on drop-bar road bikes, but because of the longer top-tube on the MTB, the geometry is all wrong. Still, this was a very nice ride with the old setup. But now it's Perfect!

Ok. I now have 10 posts so I should be able to post pics. Here is my 2000 (I looked up the date) Schwinn Mesa GSX with lots of upgrades.

What bars are you using there? I Ask because I have and old Shogun with that exact type of stem, and I'd like to set it up like yours.

Just joined. Here’s a recent FB marketplace bike I couldn’t pass up. 1987 Specialized Hard Rock. Have it at my LBS to look over and tune. It is just as clean as the picture shows. Can’t wait to sport my aloha dad shirt, cargoes and Wayfarers on it this weekend!

Got this peach of a Proflex 852 locally in Toronto. 20" ctt, 22" tt. I'm not sure if I am going to borrow the m730/732 parts for a different build and trade the frame for something else but we will see. Loving the saddle. Girvin flexstem and rigid proflex forks are pretty cool.

Picked up this '92 Giant from the original owner last year, all original down to the pads and cables, full DX groupset, period 'splatter' paint scheme and completely original, mint condition.

FSA's Metropolis, for example:
@ Jenson USA -- discontinued, but basic info about it: click.
Image of one @ Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/finder/5151273041 .
SOMA's Clarence bar: click.
The Nitto Wavie or the Nitto Albatross, available through Rivendell.
Or, you can do a no-name "Northroad" type bar, from a variety of sources: such eBay "Northroad" style bars.
Myself, I've got a bit higher-rise version of the concept, on one of my "city" bikes: 120mm rise 600mm bars. Which, on the bike, aren't nearly so high as they appear in the pics.
