Buffalo Area

Looking for nice paved trails, 10+ miles near Buffalo. Hopefully avoiding riding on roadways.

Look into the Erie Canal towpath. It's not consistently paved but can be for miles at a time. When not laced it's pretty tight gravel that narrow tires still take pretty well to. I haven't ever ridden it out that way but I believe you can pick it up near the peace bridge.

Thanks. Thinking of starting at Lasalle Park, but concerned about the apparent on-road portions heading east.

When I went to UB I would ride in Canada out to Crystal Beach on roads I remember to be deserted. This was over 40 years ago though. You didn't need a passport back then and I'd just ride in, stop at customs and go on my way. I have no idea if it is that easy now.

We used to ride to Canada From West Seneca in the 60s as teenagers to buy fireworks. No hassles crossing the Peace Bridge then. Much less auto traffic also.
