Just curious which tire everyone is using on their bike. I’m currently using Gatorskin 700x23 and it has been good to me in regards to puncture resistant which is the reason why I bought this brand. currently shopping around for wider tires

Conti GP 5000s, 700 x 25 . . . they ride great and have a lot of grip on wet roads although they're reported to be subject to punctures because of how supple they are.
I love them, a huge upgrade over the stock tires that came on my Specialized. I paid full price but have since seen some guys reporting deals where they got the pair for about $70 total.

Compass/Rene Herse 38mm x 700C Barlow Pass (slick) and Steillacoom (knobby).

These are the opposite extreme vs. Gatorskins, in terms of suppleness, comfort and rolling resistance. Fortunately, I haven't had any flats.

23c Gatorskins sound like torture.

I've got some 700 x 28c Clement (now Donnelly) Strada LGG's. They ride really well and were pretty cheap. Before that Panaracer T-Servs. Would like to try some super supple tires like Compass but I live in New York.

I'm sure you know Gatorskins go up to 32c, maybe they get a bit more comfortable at greater widths?

I've had good luck with Serfas Secas and drifters. Nice, all-around tires.

I'm still using the OEM Specialized Mondo Sport, 700x23c, wire bead, 60TPI, Flak Jackets on my 2009 Langster.
Max pressure is 120psi but I run them at 100psi to take out some of the harshness from road imperfections.
So far no flats and they're holding up well.....prob just jinxed myself

23c (110 psi) is the only tire I have ever used and don’t even know what it feels like to ride on 32c. My hands do start to get numb when I hit the 30 mile mark and bumps on the road becomes more noticeable.

Well, tires are one of the cheapest and most significant improvements you can make to the ride of your bike. If you're used to 110 PSI 23c tires, you have no where to go but up comfort wise. Try some 25 or 28c tires (if you can fit) and run them more toward the bottom rather than the top of the recommended pressure (depending on your weight) and see how it feels. There is some argument, that's too arcane for me to follow, that wider tires run a little softer are also actually faster because of science. People spend a good bit of time arguing about this elsewhere.

Everyone? 700x42 Panaracer Tours. Which are practically offroad tires in comparison.

I swear by Continental Gatorskins. Smooth, quiet and good puncture resistance, and they steer nicely. I have 5 of them.

I first had a 700x x 28 on my unicycle and liked them so much I invested in a pair of 700c x 25 for my fixed wheel bike. I also took the knobblies off my gravel bike and put Gatorskins 700c x 28 — I lose out on grip on the wet and slimy, but I save a huge amount of energy on the hard and dry.

A typical leisure ride for me, on any of my cycles, includes roads, farm tracks, bridleways and unofficial short cuts where no path exists. The Gatorskins have reduced the number of punctures I get from one every two or three rides to almost none at all.

I've ridden Gatorskins on tour bikes that I've rented for multi-day tours several times. And they ride like crap. If you've mostly ridden tires with the emphasis on puncture resistance, they are fine. If you have an opportunity to ride tires that are geared more toward ride feel, you'll realize how poorly they ride. It's a bit of a revelation.

Depends on your priorities. Riding on relatively crappy roads in New York City, I still like a little better road feel. Panaracer Pasela's (T-Serv Messenger) are OK. On my road bike I switched to 25c Veloflex Corsas. On my fixed gear the 28c Clement (now Donnelly) Strada LGGs. I'm comfortable with that compromise for ride over puncture resistance.

In a perfect world I'd go for the pricey Compass or Challenge Strada Bianca's but $60/tire plus is too rich for my blood.

I've ridden a wide range of tyres over the last 50 years including a period of several years of regular 100+ mile days with the club, commuting, camp touring, tandem touring, a brief period with a recumbent, off roading riding fixed, riding geared gravel bike, and unicycling. Every leisure ride I do these days is likely to find me down a stony bridle path or weaving between the brambles and undergrowth in the woods. Every road ride exposes me to pot holes, loose gravel and broken glass. Gatorskins suit my riding and I'm happy with my compromise. Chacun à son goût.

Just switched to WTB Nano Comps 700x40c(on my Cross Check). I ride offroad at least 50% of the time and so far they seem pretty great, two rides in. They feel fast on both dirt and pavement. Got the Comp version since this bike runs tubes, and they were only $30 a pop. Too soon to report on puncture resistance but it won't take long to get a sense--I ride this thing like a mountain bike.

I really like Veloflex Master/Criterium in 23 or 25 for the road. Super ride but wear quickly.

I have some huge 700x45 Resist Nomads on the SS CX bike and love those for the city. Like a big BMX tire for 700c.

I am debating which tires to put on the touring bike. I ran Pasela Tourguards but may go Compass or slick Gravelkings.

do you ever have the sidewall threads fraying from your gatorskins? I just notice it on my rear tire and I have less than 1000 miles on it.

I did have a few loose threads when I fitted my most recent one from new, but I've not had any trouble with them fraying in use. I know the problem you mean though because I have it quite bad on a different branded 29er tyre on one of my unicycles.
