Casino Mainstreet 10 speed bike
I have a Casino Mainstreet 10 speed bike that I picked up at an auction and I can't find anything online about it. If anyone can give me any info on it I would really appreciate it. I have attached a picture and it looks to be from the mid to late 80's or early 90's. Thanks for any responses.

What kind of componentry has it got, Pete? It's a bit hard to pick up details from the photo.

It doesn't have anything special. In fact I've never heard of the brakes(Tong Cheng) and the shifters are Falcon. I've attached a couple more picture not that at this size its very descriptive.

Looks rather like it would have been sold by a chain store.

The Falcon brakes are pretty low end. I would concur with USAZorro.

Appreciate the constructive criticism
I was fully aware of this being a 13 year old post but this happens to be an extremely rare bike and this was the only single post I have found on it. Therefore, I posted for my ‘peace of mind’ if you should say. Maybe I could bring Pete back from the dead, shoot him a noti.. because he may be the only other person on this earth that has this same bike. My doppelgänger. Screw another thread, I want to talk to Pete. Thanks

Since you asked, you paid $70 too much. Not rare, just poorly made and few have likely survived because of it.

Well hello. Good luck with the Pete thing. You should try to be less cavalier with your first posts, I know I wasn't. There's an encyclopedic abundance of knowledge on this forum about old bikes and you just said 'screw that' to someone who's likely forgotten more about bikes than 'Pete' will ever know.

Thank-you, but I could most definitely resell it for the vintage fashion aspect of it. The 80’s are back and modern vintage bikes are flying off the shelves. It’s made in the US and it’s RARE remember, me and Pete are the only people who have this bike. Oh, just got a message from a different forum... It turns out this bike was ridden by Kelly kapowski on Saved By The Bell. And just to be clear, I didn’t have to put my credit card info in for this forum.. it’s free.. I guess I applaud you for taking it upon your self to police it. I wasn’t saying ‘screw it’ to offend you in anyway, didn’t realize that grown men were sensitive enough to find that offensive? Are you going to turn all your bike enthusiasts against me, for real? I feel so warmly welcomed into the cyclist community.. maybe I’ll just stick to Fashion.

Shouldn't bikes be sold at chain stores?
I lead a group of gentlemen and ladies who fix up bicycles for an annual charity event for local needy families. We call ourselves the "Chain Gang."

I'm going to guess that this is some form of a Murray given the particular assortment of el-cheapo components - but mostly the paint and graphics. Murray seemed to do quite a bit of exceptionally tacky interpretations of the "splatter and block" fad in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The dark frame/bright fork combo was also one of their gimmicks.
And yes, this is a pile of Wally-World, bike-shaped-object that's worth $2...at best. It is "rare" only because nobody wants to collect it, nobody ever thought it warranted documentation, and most owners chucked them to the trash after using them for two months. In fact, even if it's not a Murray...nobody cares.
Why does it deserve this distinction? It's 10 pounds heavier than it needs to be because of the steel rims, the frame is indifferently welded, the brakes won't work because the calipers are the worst of the worst, that one-piece molded foam saddles is painful at best, and it stands as yet another example of a long line of crappy, uncomfortable, big-box store bikes playing off the hybrid/MTB leisure trend of the 1980's. This thing was destined to be left for dead after disappointing the buyer who thought they could get a deal by spending $70 on a new bicycle.
At best, someone sitting on a pair of aluminum rims, some spare parts, and a coaster brake can make a fairly fun singlespeed beater out of these. Even then, unless all the parts happen to be sitting in your lap without a better frame sitting around, it's usually not worth it.
-Kurt
P.S.: Ejstudie, since you seem to know everything about the bike already, you obviously don't need us. Hope you sell it to a bigger dingleberry for $500

How much time do you have?
