Dura Ace 7800 Rear Derailleur Med Cage
Decided to go back to short cage 7800 rear derailleur so this one can go to a new owner.
Dura Ace 7800 Medium Cage rear derailleur "long cage." OEM Dura Ace pulleys with thousands of miles left to ride on them. Mechanically sound and shifted flawlessly with the DA7800 groupset.
Pictured are 2 road rashes on the derailleur body.
Asking $110 shipped via USPS Priority Mail within 72 hours. Cash, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp or USPS Money Order accepted only.

I am going to pass on this, while it would be sweet to have Dura-Ace on my bike, an Ultegra long cage has more capacity on the back end without going to a Roadlink.

I am running an RD-6500 with an 11-36 Shimano XTR cassette. The jockey wheel is very close to the cassette but it works great.
I am also running an RD-5700 on another bike but while it shifts great, it is not as precise as the Ultegra.
The 5700 bike is running 5700 brifters where the Ultegra bike is running a SL-R770 flat bar shifter for 10 speeds in the rear and a Dura-ace DT shifter and Front derailleur for the double up front..

Are these pretty rare? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one?

I am kind of confused- around here, people dress like that all the time, any given day- whether they're mowing the lawn or going to church... But I can imagine in other areas of the country it may be a little less common.
Whenever you hear announcers or other people refer to Hornung as The Golden Boy, it's like 'whatever.' Max McGee used to call the games on local radio- and I'd guess around 98 or so Jim Irwin, the co-host asked Max why he was kind of squirrely- and Max was like "The Golden Boy is in town tonight and we're gonna rip it up."

I very much enjoy the Packers- and Robbie is correct- my name comes from NFL HOFer Paul Hornung- The Golden Boy.

I’ll bump this with the news of a near-NOS DA7800 triple for sale at Bicycle Recyclery. Would be a great match with this derailleur.

I haven't gotten to that point yet- I'm still living dangerously on a 5 speed crankset with a 10 speed chain.

I agree with the aesthetic advantage going to 7700. I just like the extra gear and buttery performance of the 7800. I suppose the 9 speed crank may work okay with a 10 speed group. Sometimes Dura-Ace can be finicky about such things.
