Sturmey Archer headlamp help

This is a headlamp from a 1969 Raleigh Superbe. I cant quite figure out where this bent wire goes. Is it just another lens clip? Where does the pointy end go? Also, does it seem like I am missing something from the black pivoting switch mechanism? I recall other versions had a piece of sheet metal that spun to touch some of the leads.

I believe it is used to hold the reflector assembly into the headlight shroud from the back, along with two or three additional clips like that.

Mystery solved.





12 o'clock copper rear
9 o'clock silver rear
10 o'clock and 3 o'clock are the leads from the dynohub

Looks good! I don't recall the spring touching the bulb (I thought it fit on the outside of the housing), but if it works and there are no shorts, all the power to you
