Would appear to be 1969. This can be corroborated to some extent, by the components, assuming they are original. Per Chuck Schmidt, ".. the Nuovo Record rear derailleur has a patent date that corresponds to its manufacturing date starting in 1970 (example "PAT. 70"); marked "PATENT" before 1970. The lock nut on the hub axle typically is stamped with "CAM. 60" or some other number denoting the last two digits of the year of manufacture. Starting in 1973 the crank arms have a code consisting of a diamond (1970's), circle (1980's), square (late Super Record), with a number in the center denoting the last digit of the year of manufacture (some exceptions:11=1985, 22=1986, 33=1987 plus others)."

I know where one is, right now. I believe it is a 53 or 55 cm (c-c) on the seat tube. Problem is, he does not want to sell. I have taken a run at him several times and he always says no, but invites me to try again. No pictures of this one - sorry. I do recall a Stronglight 49d crank set but can't remember too much more than that.

Yeah I need a 57 or a 23 inch. I thought the Competitions came with stronglight cranks and those awful Campy gran turismo derailleurs.

Yeah I need a 57 or a 23 inch.
A bit bigger than what I would normally ride. However, this 58 early sixties Torpado Professional goes on the road today. Bout time..!
