December 2019 100 Miles/km Thread

It doesn’t look like I’ll make my 8,000 mile goal for the year. But I do have a trick up my sleeve...a smart trainer coming soon. So, I’m going to try for 500 miles.

Please share your goals for December, if so inclined. How about your yearly goal...did you hit it?

With the weather changing. Who knows what it’ll be like the rest of the month , and with holiday obligations. I’m hoping for 15 days of riding @ an average of 5 miles per ride ( with possibly some cold rides mixed in ) = 75 mile goal for December. Trying to set a realistic doable goal .

I started keeping a mileage log on 6-29-19 . At the time I had no idea what kind of yearly goal to set . I would have thought a goal of 1000 miles for a whole year would be a heck of a goal for me . A couple months ago I said I hoped to get 750 miles for this year. I’ve exceeded my expectations.
I’m going to set my yearly goal at 800 . If the weather is good to me , I should make it

December Goal: 105 miles - I missed my goal big time last month - only got 142 miles toward a goal of 225. So going for 105 in the colder weather. Just need 54 miles to hit my 2019 goal!

December to date: 0.0 miles

2019 to date: 1946.8 miles

2019 goal: 2000 miles

Well, it’s officially winter time riding for me . 52 when I started and my arthritis was telling me it felt colder than that . There was a 8-10mph wind that didn’t help . I don’t see how you guys ride those long rides . Even in idea conditions, a 10 miler is a long ride .
I was able to get the heart rate up for 30+ minutes of cardio, so I accomplished my goal today . Stay warm !
edit: did a little work on one of my SS cruisers and took it out this evening for a little test ride . I added the mileage in.

I'm doing a 200k on Saturday so I adjusted my goal up by 100. I didn't really think about a year goal, but I'm on pace for 6,200 and about 220 rides. I'm pleased with that. Last year I did 2,100, so, yeah.

What kinda bike ya got there? I see fat tires and a rear derailleur. And a Sting-Ray-Esk frame.

It’s an Electra 7d Fat Tire Cruiser . Seven speeds , geared pretty low for easy peddling . I still average a little over 9mph on it . Very comfortable and fun riding bike .
The cruiser style bars takes 90% of the pressure off my hands when riding , which lets me ride with the arthritis in my hands .

It’s cool. I also like the disk brakes. An e-version would be perfect for pulling a grand child in a trailer, which is in the card in the coming months.

Thanks , it’s heavy duty . 12g spokes . 3.5” cruiser tires .
I’ve seen an e-version a guy put together on Facebook in the “Electra Lovers” group . Think he was in England IIRC . Electra is worldwide , and so are their fans . They have quite a following.
