New Frame Day! Trek 710
A riding friend and I decided that it was too snowy to ride so we went on a local bike shop tour. Stopped into the most C&V friendly shop and the owner had a Trek frame in his work stand. A quick conversation and we agreed to a swap. My too small Trek 610 frame and fork for his frame and fork. We left for home and I quickly stripped the Superbe components from my frame and headed back to the shop.
Say hello to my new 1980 Trek 710. Serial number H3D7A49 indicates an April 1980 build of a 22 1/2" frame.

Thanks! My plan is to clean up some paint issues around the bottom bracket and then put all of the Superbe components from the too small Trek onto this one.

cb400bill, this is of course off topic, I happen to be a tad of a aquarium enthusiast. Having run tanks since a very young age, I just have to ask. What is the size of the tank behind? What do you keep? Are you running other tanks?
I gave that hobby up a number of years ago, but now I find myself running a tank again. With the help of my brother in law I take care of an at least 125 gallon glass fresh water system. Me and my bro look at that for hours on end. My tank has the most beautiful collection of South American and African chiclids. Most interesting combination, as a youth I could not get my fish to "live together" very territorial. Amazing my brother somehow got the most aggressive breads to coincide with ones that were quite docile.
Thanks for sharing your Trek!

I really like the older Treks (1980 and late 70s) with the simple lettering on the seattube. This is a great score.

Ah, that aquarium. That is my wife's 55 gallon freshwater system. At various times she has had many different types of fish including Chiclids, Tiger Barbs, Gourami, Tetras. The most recent inhabitants were common Goldfish. Right now it is empty but I keep it running to keep it clean.

710 in Taupe color. I had a tall one that shimmied alarmingly on descents. Hope yours does better.

Nice. Makes me wish I held onto my too big 710 to trade for a just right 710. They ride nicely in a do everything well sort of way. AND gotta luv TREK paint.

Anyone have a good source for some close matching Taupe touch up paint?
