The Box O Crap has been officially quarantined! I will post some pics and my take this weekend before storing temporarily.

I flew to Portland yesterday. The plane wasn't empty, but it wasn't jam packed either. This morning I had a hearing aid appt at Costco at 10:30. It opened at 10:00 and was absolutely packed when we arrived. I should have taken a picture but I didn't know what the drive side was. It was hardly what I would call "social distancing." Oregon's governor has banned gatherings of more than 250 people. I brought my bike with me, and plan to ride a fair bit solo. Nothing like a solo bike ride to increase my social distance.

Oh most high and powerful potentate of the Box O' Crap, I admire your choice of suspension of the movement of the BOC among members to prevent the spread of bad beer with fruit in it illness. It is best that the BOC be suspended as the NBA and the NHL have also suspended movement among the team members for each game.
AS I understand it the BOC is a team player and does not want to spread any virus, rather that it just wants to spread the wealth of Crap. Thanks again for suspending it's travel among us.
your BOC servant, MH

Maybe we could do a virtual Box O' Crap for a while?

I can't wait to read the rules for that. Please start a new thread.

I was just thinking that I could put an obscure virtual component in the virtual box and send it on to other members. That recipient would be obligated to put another virtual part in the virtual box and send it on to another member.
There will be a virtual reward for the best virtual component donated in the virtual box. You must post virtual photos of your contributions.
Trust that there will be an enormous virtual prize whenever this is over.
Thank you, and Mind The Gap

I come not to bury Crapmaster, but to praise him during the time of virus. I am sure he will arise soon after the plague that is upon us and reveal the actual BOC.

Since I see no contributors I will donate a 1919 Shimano 9 speed freewheel to the box and remove a pair of Maillard 12 speed indexed bar end shifters. There are 17 Astabula cranksets in the box among other interesting items. There seems to be no weight limit to this package, so feel free to toss in a frame or two.

I think the "Virtual BOC" idea was a bad decision. I thought that things could be better soon, and now I believe that things will be better later than we would like. I say hang on, hang in, and do your best. Take care of yourselves and your neighbors - especially your older neighbors.

Thanks guys! The funny thing about you birthday. You get an automated birthday wish from every forum you ever joined. Reminds you all the hobbies/interests that are no longer important. RC planes, model railroading, Mini Coopers (never even bought one), etc.

So glad to see the BOC still going. It gives me a sense of normalcy, lol.
