Bent Steel Fork - Miyata 912
I have a Miyata 912 with a steel fork that's slightly bent back at the bottom of the head tube. I'd love to hear what I should think about in terms of fixing it or replacing it. For how much its bent, is it dangerous to ride? Is it easy to fix?

That said, if we're concerned about cost efficiency and safety, that fork is toast, and you'd need a replacement. It's obvious that the steerer tube is bent near fork crown.
The top tube also appears damaged...

Given the number of beater bikes I’ve seen being used with bent forks, and the general material characteristic of steel, it’s unlikely that the fork wil fail. Although toe overlap or general handling characteristics might not please you.
Straightening steel forks is generally doable. I use a sturdy work bench that’s anchored to the wall, notched blocks and c-clamps, and lengths of tubing that can be threaded over the fork legs or steerer to provide extra leverage.
Mind, while I’ve done it, and AFAIK haven’t had any failures from it, I do feel safer doing in on forks where the damage is more clearly in the fork legs instead of involving the crown or bottom of steerer tube.

From the photo that looks too far gone to straighten. And as it is it would make the handling very poor and dangerous.
So you need to check where the bend is and make a descision.
In one spot at the crown race or along the length of the steerer tube. If it is at the crown race new fork.
You will have too go back past normal to get it straight and that would seriously weaken an already compromised fork.

I would say the axle is at least 40 mm pushed back. And both frame tubes are bent too.
It must of hit the back of a car. NO chance of renewal.
Did you buy it without a front wheel??
