Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best price on full R7000 groupset Shimano or 8000

I have looked around quite a bit would like to upgrade my Wilier to 11 speed with 7000 or 8000 or even 6800. Anyone know any deals seems hard because i have to have 175 cranks and I want a compact crank the options don't come up. I see stuff from China on ebay that seems good but long shipping and wonder about transaction. Has anyone does one of these purchases?

Check Merlincycles.com first. They still have good prices on Shimano to the US.

about $400 for 7000.

For sure- merlin first.
Then consider ebay. I haven't been screwed by any shippers that have a lot of feedback and sales. It's easy to see- it's in the listing. A seller with 98.5% positive feedback and 2000 sales or reviews isnt scamming buyers left and right. Yes it isnt always quick to receive the product, but unless your bike's drivetrain is currently busted, what's an extra few weeks over shipping from europe?
use paypal and you have their buyer protection too. I used it once a few years ago and got my money back with nothing more than documenting that I hadn't received my product. That was from a scam chinese seller that I knew might be a scam, but decided to take the risk. It wasn't from a seller with a lot of feedback and sales.

Save your lunch money and watch places like PBK or Chain Reaction for U DI2 group sales and don't look back.

CCC is a good place with fast shipping - they might have something on sale. I've read good things on Merlin Cycles.

Depending on your local bicycle shop, they might also be able to price match a product found on sale online. I always try that option first just in case as I prefer supporting local economy.

I have this 2013 Wilier I really like the bike ok but ride my Ti most of the time. I don't need the 11 speed as such but sort of thought upgrading might be good. No longer match the Wilier components but frankly I think the 11 speed will just shift smoother and better. I can get this to shift just fine but it does require some dialing in and then not a lot of fudge factor. I just like the whole feel and performance of my 6800 so much better. Probably bit a good idea but If I could sell the stuff it would offset the cost. I like this Wilier because it still has the BSA bottom bracket no press fits for me.

Agree with all above. If you do end up on eBay...look for "mini groupsets", these are typically everything minus the cranks. Then perhaps it might be easier to find the crank size you want separately.

Your best bet is:

Merlin for the R7020 shifters/brakes - $250
Ebay for 7000 FD/RD - $50
Ebay for the crankset
