I'm officially old
Only marginally cycling related.
In the governments eyes at least I’m “old" as I just enrolled in Medicare Part A. I'm still gainfully employed so won't use it nor need to coordinate, but admit to feeling my age. Doesn't help I'm having a hard time getting over a bout of pneumonia from a cold and sinus infection. Haven't ridden in 3 weeks and doubt I'll get out this weekend. At least my blood counts show it's not a flair up of my Chronic Leukemia, all good on that, thank God.
All in the head though, the head cold too. Looking forward to a warmish day just to get a spin on the road bike.

Baloney. That ain't old. You're not qualified for full Social Security and you have to take off your shoes at the airport for 10 more years.

The US gov't (Medicare) tried to tell me I was old 4 years ago--I still don't believe 'em! Hope ya get over the pneumonia soon.

Boy, that is the truth. It's not so much my age milestones that trouble me ... it's when I realize how old my kids are becoming. As for medicare, I can't wait. I'm self-employed, and it should help a lot with the expense.
I feel what you mean about getting older, though. It sneaks up on you.

I recall when I turned 35 I felt old as I realized I was now old enough to be President. Seemed like I was supposed to be an "adult" or something.

I'm old, too. I like pretending I'm not when I think I can get away with it. Or when I can p#ss of my bone doc cuz I got bursitis in my hip from riding too hard: "You old guys need to stop acting like you're still 30." Fat chance, pal. Though at 69 maybe acting 40 would be a reasonable compromise.

My wife and I are turning 70 this summer, and I am still working full time, or close to it, in my encore career. My wife, a self-employed artist (oils, some water, some photography), has no real plans to retire.

Looks like my age could be a problem. I hear on the news that people older than 65 are at greater risk with coronavirus. Well, in 4 weeks I'll turn 66, which is older than 65. Suddenly my risk just shot up. In one day.
I suspect my risk of coronavirus is pretty close to being run over by an AMC Pacer. While riding a unicycle.

Yep, I just got my medicare card too. Worse than that though is that I applied for a NY MTA half fare metrocard and on the card it says in bold letters "Senior Citizen". I'm the nut that always runs up the long escalators from the subway platform but I'm entitled to ask people to give up their seats for me now. Never mind that someone offered me a seat while I was still working thinking I was infirm. Yes, I was infirm, but from riding the NYC Century the day before. But the thing about the NYC Century is that no matter how fast you can ride, it takes a long time because it is on the streets of NYC and speed doesn't really matter much. You end up in the saddle for 8 to 10 hours and you'd rather stand after that than sit!
