Newbie question: what’s the approximate max mileage of a Conti GP5000?
The subject line says it all, I’m considering switching but I’d like to have an idea how the mileage you guys have been able to put on your GP5000 tyres.

I haven't entirely worn out a set yet, but one set of GP5000s I have has 7000km on them and the tire wear markings on the rear tire are barely visible now. The front is somewhat better. I'd estimate they have another 1000-2000 km in them. Of course, you could ignore what Continental says and ignore the wear markings and run them until they get ragged, in which case you could get much more out of them. Another set was on another bike previously and has done about 3000km or so, little although some visible wear to them, third set has 2000km and still smell like fresh tire when washed with little wear. I'd estimate the life of them if you replace when the wear markings wear off to be about 9000km or so.
That's with a 23F/25R combination, inner tubes version (running latex now), a system weight of up to 85kg total, and nearly the whole distance done on mostly decent roads, only a couple offroad rides in there.
Overall I'm quite happy with them.

The GP4000s II says 4859km on the box. I think I get more.

I've been getting about 1,500-2,000 miles out of a rear, and ~2,500 from the front.
Technically speaking, I could get more from them (i.e. wear markings are still very visible) but that's when they start to become squared off, and I start noticing a decline in handling.
The GP5K's can be had for pretty cheap, so I'd spend the money and keep them fresh.
