Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I got a Retul fit today! I think that counts as a cycling-related purchase.

Got a Scott Scale 29er MTB for the winter months about a week ago. I call it my christmas gift to me...
And I upgraded the rims on my road bike to Vuelta Corsa SL

If you want it to stay put, keep it out of a Madone.

I think a Madone equipped with $40 Forza 155mm cranks would be an amusing sight

I picked up a new bike last night. Does that count as "Latest thing bike related" that I bought?!?!?!

Cannondale CAAD9 Aluminum Frame
Cannondale Ultra Carbon fiber fork
Deda Newton Handlebar
10 spd Shimano Dura-Ace STI Shifters
10 spd Ultegra derailleurs, front and rear
Double Ultegra crankset 175mm length
Ultegra brake calipers
FSA RD-200 wheelset
Ultegra Chain
Ultegra 10spd cassette
Ascent full carbon seatpost
Sete titanium railed saddle
Cannondale 110mm stem
Deda bar tape

Hope I enjoy it as much as the '96 R400 it's replacing. Now I get to find a new computer, swap my pedals over, and get fitted.

Bought me a tail light / headlight combo pack at the LBS. I notice none of the "pros" have these, but oh well. I will use these on the foggy days (and I know they're fast approaching). Things are stupid bright (which I guess is the purpose). I was going to get the Nite Ryder ones, but these were really cheap at my LBS, so I figured eh... the Nite Ryder's advantages is that the tail light has 5 LEDs (one on each side) vs just the 3 in the front face like the one I got does. Oh well.

I ordered these. Delivery time is 4 to 5 weeks. Can't wait for these to be here...

Will post pictures in the gallery as soon as they arrive and I swapped the wheels on my bike.
