Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I bet life was much simpler in the Boomer glory days. You just went to the record store and bought a 45.

Not sure if it's still true but not too long ago you could walk into any thrift store and find at least 3 vinyl copies of Whipped Cream and other Delights.

12" of course, not 7"

Stole this quote. Thanks

Road Cycling“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Will rewrite its gist to shorten it.
Thanks

So, having extolled the virtues of my Dodge (10 years and over 100,000 miles with no breakdowns), the damn thing decided it was time for a coolant leak. I JUST made it home as the red light went on. Now here I am with a busted car in the driveway, and Mrs. GJ in SoCal with her car. I got a neighbor to pick up The Older Boy from work, and TOMORROW, I'll rent a car. Or maybe Monday.

There are tennis courts nearby. I don't know how many balls are lost. Sadly, I have little to no use for tennis balls these days.

Somewhere in front of the engine, based on what's covered in goo. Hose? Radiator? Dunno.

Only the dealership. I suppose I'll have it towed there on Monday.

Of course. Even electric cars have them. The Volt has 4 of them, iirc.

But this Renault 16 though. Dead sexy. Probably too small to fit on an S-10 chassis. WB too long for a Tercel. Maybe an '80s AWD wagon chassis would work???

throw that body on an old / vintage 70’s Bronco chassis … with a warmed over 302 (or whatever) … yeah that would be cool

back in the 70’s a few of my friends went through a stage when they put car bodies on 4wd truck chassis … one had a 4wd Gremlin - think that one was on an old Bronco chassis … another had a 68 Camaro body on a 4wd chassis - this one was especially cool because he also had a front differential installed on the rear … 4 wheel steering … he would sometimes drive down the road sideways …

good times

Got buzzed this morning but when I replay the video it doesn’t look nearly as bad as I feel it should look, based on how the driver made me feel when he buzzed me.

Yes the above statement was on purpose.

IKR. The content quality is sorely suffering, and this silly monthly post count contest sorely makes it worse.
