The Wife's "NEW" 15 year old bicycle
This was to be my wife's NEW 15 year old bike. I had planned on finishing up last night and having her take it out today. However, like with all projects, it only takes one small detail to be a show-stopper.
This is an all Italian bike (With exception of tires - German)
Even the rims are vintage Campagnolo Omicron. Most of it was NOS, unused, and still in its original packaging-- including the frame and fork.
I acquired almost all of it from eBay or other online retailers.
What stopped completion is that the cassette lockring isn't included with the cassette but rather with the rear hub. So when I had the wheels built, I forgot to snag the ring out of the packaging. So I picked up the hand built wheels and I didn't get the ring. Being unable to install the cassette, I'm also not able to install the chain and complete the derailleur tuning.
For component selection, I attempted to remain true in appearance to the era but adjusted for some modern upgrades in some areas.
I think its pretty cool for a 15 year old bicycle
Frame 1991 Colnago Sprint Super(?) 51cm in Columbus Steel
Italmanubri Eclipse Vanadium Stem
TTT bars
Cinelli Splash bar tape
Campagnolo Centaur 10sp Gruppo
Campagnolo Centaur Polished 10sp Compact Crankset
Campagnolo DropOut adjustement screws
Campagnolo Seat Post binder bolt
American Classic Bottle Cages
Oh well, its off to the bike shop this morning.

Gorgeous!
It'll be a cold day in hell when my husband builds a bike for me.... But he takes care of the kids every weekend while I'm riding so I guess I can't complain.
I still have to hide my upgrade and gear purchases.
