Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Now, i may not be as fit as you guys

But i rode through a local college campus today that i was told was just a nice place to breeze through. THere must have been som kindof something going on cause there were girls EVERYWHERE, it was INSANE. I was a little bit embarrassed at first because i wasnt expecting it and here i am in spandex. I started biking to thin out and im doing good but im still kinda chunky around the mid section. But i was getting whistles and catcalls right and left, biggest freaking ego booster ive had in a while. No, there wasnt any laughin, it all seemed to be approval. Anything similar ever happen to you guys? Do you find yourself getting noticed by th ladies more when you are in your riding gear?

i don't notice it much. then again, i live in san diego. cyclists are a dime-a-dozen here, especially when riding up and down the coast.

how's your eye?

Having spent the last 6 years at Penn State I did a fair amount of riding through campus, and I don't ever remember getting whistled at. Apparently you're a sexier dude on a bike than myself

I still fail to understand the big deal with "wearing spandex / Lycra". Somebody care to explain?

I live 7 miles from the UCONN Storrs campus....an overabundance of hotties wandering around that place. Unfortunately the 7 mile climb up to the campus kinda sucks.

I have a pair of shorts like the ones Ben Stiller had in Dodgeball... You know, the pump thingy except I use my CO2 cartridges to fill it up.

I live 1.5 blocks from the girls only dorms supplying MSU with thousands upon thousands of fine and fancy freshmen females.

The day I DON'T get yelled at is the day I wonder what is going on.
