New Bike Day

I traded in my 2012 Specialized Sirrus for a 2020 Trek Marlin 6 (and kept my bars).

Congrats on the new bike!
How does it compare to the Sirrus? The bars confuse me but I like the colour.....

Thanks. Same bars as on the Sirrus. It is a bigger bike. It rides gravel and dirt much batter. The bike shop has an empty lot with gravel, rock, and dirt. The geometry fits me better and the handlebars are higher. I will take it on my usual ride tomorrow. I am thinking it will be slower on the road but faster and more stable on the dirt and gravel.

Enjoy!!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen bars like those before. Did they have to do anything special to mount the shifters?

No. These are Velo Orange Crazy Bars and are designed to take mountain bike shifters and brake levers. It took about 10 minutes for the shop to switch the bars and did not have to extend the cables.

Nice! I dig my 2017 Sirrus, but it is slowly but surely getting pretty beat up. Nice bike.
