Options for budget tubeless cx wheelset

Looking to do a budget tubeless setup for cx this year. Looking primarily at lighter XC mtb wheels...However, I can't for the life of me find a 29er wheel with 19mm rim that is tubeless, quick release axles, and disc brakes.

Any suggestions?

try to set up your current wheels tubeless is the cheapest option. Use gorilla tape

You should probably be looking at road wheels, not mtb wheels.

dt swiss r460d rims and a lot of different budget disc hub options; I've heard good things about the dt swiss 350 hubs. ETA: I don't know exactly how wide they are but I'm running the non-disc version tubeless with my Trigger 38s and they're great.

Check out velomine dot com; I've bought 3-4 wheelsets for >$200 from them and no complaints.

For budget CX these seem pretty popular but you do realize you will probably not find both "budget" and "lighter" wheels...

Mavic Crossride Wheelset

You might do better watching on Craigslist for some used wheels

Can't go wrong with Mavic. I've always been happy with their wheels.

Yes, I said "lighter XC wheels"---as opposed to more robust MTB wheels.

Depends on your definition of "lighter" but hard to beat at $179.

Why don't you go get your parts from bikehubstore.com and build them yourself? You can get a killer wheelset for about $450.

I'd love to....But 2 kids, a 60 hr week job and backlog of house projects means what little free time I have, I want to be on my bike.

Cool. A Poor Man's tubeless wheelset! Jury still out on its long-term durability.

Yes, I use them on my tires from 32mm to 40mm. My 32mm are not tubeless so I'm running ghetto tubeless. Personally I wouldn't go much above 60-70 PSI on tubeless (regardless of design).

how low do you go? My concern is more burping at <30psi

I don't have personal experience with going that low, but anecdotal evidence is good. Also, there is a video on the site of a tire being removed from the wheel after a year and still holding air - so burping would be impossible if that is true. I would give it at least a week to ensure a good seal between the strip and the tire for burping.
