10 years and counting
September 16. 2009 I officially filed to make PSIMET a business.
The business grew from the early interactions I had here. I would be remiss if I didn't celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company without coming out here. Thank you to all those that are still around from that time and era. Thank you to all of you on here who have been friends and customers over the years. Thank you as a forum community for being so argumentative and addictive that when I went to create a domain and business name the amount of SEO behind all of the thousands of my posts forced me to pick the only name that no one else had ever registered: PSIMET.
While there are hundreds of pics from the early days of just bikeforums.net I figured i would commemorate this with one that has a bit of everything:
My first cyclocross clinic held in promotion of a race that I eventually took over and have made into the Illinois State Cyclocross Championships. Me acting a fool with hairy legs and wearing my bikeforums.net kit that I helped make on here for friends of the forum at the time. A photo taken by a dear friend whom I met through bikeforums while he was still a kid at Iowa State.
Thanks for the fun over all the years and feel free to either ignore this or jump in with pics and memories.

I remember BikeForums!
Way to go, Psimet. You realize it's been over 13 years since our first "Hey I don't know who you are but let's meet up to ride the bicycles since we're neighbors."
I'll be in for a cappuccino soon.

Congratulations on your ten years as a spokesman,
navigating the varying tensions of BF to get to the hub of things
and dish out wheel info. that stays true.

I remember when you took that big step, kinda scary to quit your job, etc. A couple people out here have your wheels and nothing but good things to say about them and dealing with your company.
Congrats on staying afloat for 10 years!

It's funny because most of the old guys I know by their real names now and can't hardly remember their screen names. Every now and then I will see someone on Facebook comment on something and we end up having 12-15 friends in common and they are all old BF people.
IIRC the kid with the hamer dropeing ended up in the military and then jail for some possible skeevy behavior.

Right? I was going through photos and I have a bunch from Phil Cianciola's first century. Can't remember what his screen name on here was at the time but he's the one that wrote all those threads about the "knave" - guy wearing sweat pants on a mtb that could drop him. How he would go Knave hunting and such.
That century was a riot. Trying to get Hip to turn up the pace a bit, but Coach Jerry telling him to just keep rolling all comfortable. KenL was riding his folding bike that day. Spaghetti and red wine from paper cups in a school cafeteria to celebrate the accomplishment.
Good times, man.

Congratulations Psimet. Thanks for you active involvement here over the last ten years too. I’ve noticed all your advice is totally frank and honest, which we all respect. You’ve told some people that light, deep, and few spoke wheels aren’t suited for them, which shows personal integrity, even though that honesty means you likely lost a sales or two. Keep it up and I hope you’re back here in another ten years.
